Dear Parents,
My name is Lisa Zavon and I am pleased to tell you that I will be your child’s new VPK teacher for the remainder of the 2012-2013 school year.
I graduated from the University of North Florida with a degree in Pre-K/ Primary Education. With my degree, I am certified to teach ages three years old through Third Grade.
I have experience working in many schools across Duval County including West Jacksonville Elementary, Merrill Road Elementary, and John E. Ford Elementary.
I have worked in the summer camp at the JCA with children three and four years old and also with children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. I was also a Junior Counselor and a C.I.T. at the Jacksonville Jewish Center camp.
I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. My family has strong roots here. My dad grew up at the Jacksonville Jewish Center, which we are still active members. My mom is currently the Fourth and Fifth Grade Math and Social Studies teacher at the Martin J. Gottlieb Day School.
I attended the Bernard and Alice Selevan Religious School and graduated from the Martin J. Gottlieb Day School. I was an active member in USY and have wonderful memories of being involved in the school and religious activities. I have grown up at the Center and could not imagine another school where I would want to teach.
I look forward to giving your child a positive learning experience and creating a caring and educational classroom community.
Please let me know any questions, comments, or concerns that your may have. I am available anytime you need me and I look forward to a great school year!
