Tzeeporim 2 is halfway through VPK!

Good evening!

It is hard to believe that Winter Break is next week, which means that Tzeeporim 2 is halfway through VPK!

This week we have not only talked about looking forward to Winter Break, but, we have enjoyed reading books by Raffi. We started our week off with reading “Shake our Sillies Out” (appropriate for the week before break, huh? 🙂 ) and will continue our week by reading and listening to stories by Raffi. We are also creating a fun art project with each of these books!

We are continuing to work on recognizing our last name and have begun working in our “Handwriting Without Tears” book. We also are reviewing syllables and reviewing what sounds each letter makes.

We will also continue to work on the letter “S” and will continue learning more sight words!

During resource this week we have enjoyed creating foam roller coasters with Miss Nancy and Mr. Greg, playing clean up with Coach Rebecca (which is a great game that helped us with sorting toys by shape, size, and color), and also had a great time with Coach Goldman in the afternoon.

Morah Rachel and Miss Rucha came to visit our classroom on Monday and talked with us about this weeks Torah portion. We also discussed our Hebrew and English names and how we received these names, which the kids loved talking about!

Although it has been a great week, it is also a bittersweet week due to the fact that our lovely Lucy will be moving with her family to Annapolis over Winter Break. We will definitely miss having her in our class and hope to keep in touch with her as they embark on a new journey to a new city! We will miss you Lucy!

I have seen your child grow so much from August to December. I thoroughly enjoy having them in my class and look forward to a great second half of VPK!

I hope that you all have a restful Winter Break, a Happy New Year,  and I will see you all in 2014!

Todah Robah,
