Tzeeporim 2 News August 21, 2013

Shalom and welcome to Tzeeporim 2 (VPK) with Miss Lisa and Miss Gabrie!

I welcome you and your child to VPK! We are going to have a great year together. Please remember to check your child’s Daily Folder. Important information from the office and myself will be sent home, as well as information on how your child’s day was and where they were on the behavior chart.

The Quality Time Assignment is completely voluntary. I understand that many of you work full time and that it is hard to complete during the week. This information is there to help you have an understand of what is going on in our class as well as keep communication between your child, yourself, and me as open as possible.

During the Meet and Greet a Parent Information packet was sent home. This packet contained information about our classroom procedures and other information. The information regarding our daily behavior chart was also including in this packet. Please let me know if you have any questions.

This week has been very excited for our class! We have gotten to know each other as well as getting to know what is expected from Miss Gabrie and myself. We got to start off our first day of school with Mr. Greg and Jewish Studies with Morah Rachel and Morah Miriam! We also got time with Miss Zina and Coach Rebecca. After a long summer, all the students were so excited to see their favorite resource teachers!

We have started to review our letters and work on distinguishing our shapes, letters, and numbers. We have also been reading books about the first week of school and talking about being a kind friend in our class.

Next week we will talk about our families. We will make a Family Book that will be placed in our classroom library. We will also read books about different families and talk about how our families have similarities as well as differences.

Our class will also be introduced to center rotations, which occurs from 11-12 a.m. in our class through out the week. The students get a chance to work with Miss Gabrie and my self one-on-one, as well as having an “independent” center where they are expected to complete an activity independently or with a partner/group.

This week we learned about our free centers. Next week we will learn about our technology center and listening  center.

Important Reminders:

Please send an extra pair of clothes with your child to keep at school incase they have an accident through out the year
