I hope that you all had a restful Winter Break. This week has been our first week back from break and boy, has it been a COLD one!! Unfortunately the cold weather has kept Tzeeporim stuck in side, but we have made the best of the cold weather by playing fun inside games and enjoying the gym when Coach Goldman isn’t using it with the ‘big kids’!
The students were all SO excited to be back in school! We have had a blast with Morah Rachel, Morah Miriam, and Coach Rebecca. Tomorrow we get to see Miss Zina and I know they will be looking forward to singing some of our favorite songs with her during Music time!
We also have welcomed two new students to our class, Hunter and Troy! We love having Hunter and Troy in our classroom family! Welcome Hunter and Troy and we are all SO glad that you are here!!
This week we have been reading more Laura Numberoff books. Our curriculum focused on the book “If You Take a Mouse to School”. During circle time we talked about the characters of the book and worked on beginning sounds and critical thinking questions about the book.
Starting over the next few weeks, we will begin focusing heavily on number recognition- numbers one to twenty. This is definitely something that needs to be practiced at home as well as at school. I will be sending home some “practice sheets”. These are completely optional and will help your child with number recognition! 🙂
This week I will also start to begin VPK state assessments. Please make sure that your child gets enough sleep and eats a healthy breakfast. I want your child to score to the best of their ability so that you can see how much growth they have had over the first part of the year! (Let your child know I say they are Smarty Pants, too! They think it is hilarious when Ms. Lisa calls them Smarty Pants! : ) )
