I hope that everyone had a restful Shavuot and is ready for the end of the year which is coming up FAST!
Tzeeporim has had a busy week full of fun and learning.
Last Friday, we had the SPECIAL opportunity to have our Ema’s (Moriah’s) brother come and read to us- he is a 2nd grader at the Day School and he read us a book about Kindergarten. Moriah was SO excited to have her brother in our classroom and the students loved hearing him read! He was a GREAT reader!
Monday and Tuesday of this week the students took the mandatory state VPK assessments. We had Ms. Paul and Ms. Staci subbing in our room, allowing me to pull the students and complete the assessments one-on-one. The students all did FABULOUS! I was so proud of them and the improvements that have been made since the first assessment that was given in September! The results should be sent home before the end of school and you will be able to see how ready your child is for Kindergarten!
Morah Rachel, Morah Miriam, Miss Rucha, and Miss Zina have started working with us for our Moving Up Ceremony program. It is going to be a great program filled with songs, memories of VPK, and showing the parents how much we have learned this year!
We have a very busy few weeks coming up. Here is a list of upcoming events- please feel free to join us for any events. We will need volunteers for many of the events that are coming up. Keep an eye out for a sign up sheet to be sent home, as well as hanging outside of our room.
May 23- Camp fun day. Please make sure you have filled out and returned the sun-screen slip that is required for us to re-apply sunscreen through out the day. We will be enjoying this fun day from 9:30-11:30.
Please send your child in a bathing suit and have a packed change of clothes and towel. Also, you will need to send back in the DuBow preschool t-shirt and extra sunscreen to be re-applied.
Please label your child’s sunscreen. 🙂
June 4- 11:00-11:30: We will be decorating our end of the year t-shirts. We will need a few parent volunteers to help with this activity. I am going to check in the supply room for white t-shirts and make sure we have enough for all of the children. We are then going to put our handprints on every child’s shirts. Morah Hanna and my hand prints will go on the back of the shirt- I think this will be a great memory for all of the children to have!
June 5- 8:45-9:45: Water play day. Please send your child in their bathing suit with sunscreen applied and a towel. Please make sure to send an extra change of clothes, a towel, and extra sunscreen to be re-applied through out the day.
June 11- 9:00-11:00- We will be having our field day! This morning will consist of fun field games and treats to celebrate the end of the VPK. This is a day we will need parents to volunteer. We will have different stations for the kids to go to and need help supervising the stations.
At 10:30 we will be having our ice cream social. We will need another set of parents to help with our ice cream party to help serve the kids.
After the field day, I plan to have the kids eat outside on the picnic tables to end the day in a great way!
This day will be with Ms. Debby and Ms. Robin’s VPK 1 class.
June 13- Moving up ceremony at 10:30. Bring the family for this special event!! For one of our songs we will be singing, we will need you to send in a pair of sunglasses and a baseball hat for this song. Please send this in by June 10.
Please let me know any comments, questions, or concerns. I look forward to a great last few weeks of school with your wonderful children!
Miss Lisa 🙂
