Week at a Peek- April 30, 2014

Good evening!

As we say goodbye to April and begin in our last full month of school, we have made sure to stay very busy with reading “The Flower Garden” and learning all about gardening! We started our week by putting our fine motor skills to work and making tissue paper flowers. We read our Focus Book and talked about gardening and keep the environment clean.

We continued the week by working on a new type of writing, drawing a picture and labeling the steps. The students were introduced to this topic by drawing a picture of how they garden a flower and then dictating the steps to be written down. The students also wrote about how they can keep their environment clean and practiced recognizing word wall words.

During Math this week we discussed measurement and the terminology that goes with understanding measurement. During Science this week we have discussed recycling and keeping our environment clean. The students had such great input on how to keep our environment clean and what they do at home to make sure they do their best to keep our Earth clean and green 🙂 .

This week during resources we have been able to start practicing for VPK graduation with Morah Miriam and Morah Rachel. We also have discussed Yom Ha’atmaut and pretending that we were actually on a trip to Israel!

We will continue our week with Miss Zina and celebrating Shabbat. We will be able to see a special puppet show by Max’s grandmother and get a story from the ELC about accepting friends and how to get along with our classmates.

During the afternoon we have gotten to see Coach Goldman and enjoy a story with Ms. Hallett. We will get to see Ms. Gutterman and end our week with enjoying music with Mr. Evan.
