What a busy, fun filled week we have had! Our week began with completing Mother’s Day gifts and reading “Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother, Too?” (How appropriate the week before Mother’s Day! 🙂 ) We discussed the letter H and talked about different animals and the names that their babies go by, our favorite was a “Joey”!
We continued our day by discussing how our families are similar to the animals in our Focus Book. We also discussed the number of sisters and brothers we have. Our class had more sisters than brother or neither. 🙂
Miss Liz,from Guiding Stars, came back to our class on Monday. It was her first visit back from having her baby and we were all SO excited to see her!
We also had a special visitor from Moriah, a Kindergartner from the day school who was in Miss Lisa’s class last year. She read a book to us about Spring. It was great to have a Kindergartner reader come to our class and show us how we will be able to read next year!!
Monday we could not help by get excited for our field trip that would be on Tuesday, to the Diamond D Ranch! 🙂
For resources we got to visit with Morah Rachel, Morah Miriam, and Miss Rucha to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut, and even got some yummy cupcakes! In the afternoon we got to see Coach Goldman and play some fun games in the gym!
Tuesday we got the opportunity to travel to the Diamond D Ranch! What a wonderful experience this was! The students all had a blast at the ranch and enjoyed all the new activities that they got to participate in! Thank you to Levi and Mason’s mommies for joining us for this special day! And thank you to everyone for sending your child prepared to face the heat and enjoy a fun day! 🙂
Through out the rest of the week we will continue to focus on “Does a Kangaroo Have a Mother, Too?” We will play a matching game to babies and their mothers and continue to work on the letter “H”.
During resources for the rest of the week we will continued to practice for Mother’s Day Shabbat and our VPK Moving Up Ceremony. One of the new parts that we are adding to this years ceremony is naming off the Ten Commandments. Please keep an eye out for an e-mail and a hand-out of the commandment your child (and their one to two partners) to say during the ceremony. We are doing this due to it being on Shavuot, we are also asking the students to wear all white during this big day!
We have a lot of important dates coming up for the end of the year. Please look at the dates below, please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. More information will be sent home as the dates get closer.
