Who me?! Couldn’t be! Then Who?!
Tzeeporim 2 has had a fun-filled week of reading “Who Took the Cookies from the Cookie Jar” and other books about cookies! We started our week with reading the book and discussing the characters feelings. Through out the week we counting and wrote numbers to our own cookie jars and decorated cookie jars on paper. This week we also had a special treat, a cookie tasting! We tried three different types of cookies and got to vote on which one was our favorite. The class favorite was Oreo’s!
Through out the week we read different books about cookies and worked on the letter B and Q. We made “B” birds and talked about different words that begin with Q. We also counted syllables and counted words in sentences!
Next week we will read the book “Let’s Write!” and work on writing and labeling our own pictures!
Our week started off with Science. During science this week we got to paint our own bird houses, which will be sent home this week! The students loved painting and did such a great job of painting!
We then traveled to Jewish Studies with Morah Rachel and Miss Rucha. We learned about tzedakah and being kind to one another.
On Tuesday, we got to see Coach Rebecca! We played balancing games and chased Coach Rebecca around the indoor playroom! She definitely helped us get our sillies out since we were stuck inside all day because of the chilly weather…brr!
On Wednesday, we traveled to Jewish Studies with Morah Miriam and Miss Rucha. We continued to learn about tzedakah and read a great book about giving to others. We learned some new songs and practiced our prayers!
We will finish out the week with Music with Miss Zina and Shabbat on Friday. Our Ema this week will be Vivi and our Aba this week will be Danny! Feel free to join us for Shabbat, starting at 10 AM! 🙂
One of the children’s favorite part of the school day is being able to travel to the “big kid” school and attend the same resources as our siblings and friends in the Day School!
On Monday, we went to our favorite Coach Goldman! The children LOVE going to Coach Goldman. It is a time they get to run around and play with the balls and scooters and get some fun quality time in with Coach!
On Tuesdays, we cook with Miss Gabrie! This week we made cookies, to go along with our book this week… We have some great chefs in our class! 🙂
On Wednesday, we get to go to Miss Karin and hear stories and color some pictures! This week we read “Leo the Late Bloomer” which taught us about a tiger that could not do the same things as his friends and then one day Leo bloomed and could do all the same things of his friends, some of which even better than his friends! We got to color tiger pictures that we could take home!
On Thursday we will go to Ms. Gutterman and finish our art project that we started last week and on Friday we get to go to Mr. Sussman and have fun singing songs and playing freeze dance!
January 30: We get to travel to Kindergarten! This is a great experience for VPK- we get to walk to the day school and meet Ms. Yegewel. This allows some of the pre-Kindergarten jitters to start disappearing and to start getting excited about Kindergarten, no matter where we are going to school!
February 4- 100th day of school! Please check your child’s e-mail and folders for information about this day. If you have any questions, please let me know :).
February 17: President’s Day– No School
Take a look at our pictures from this week:
This week, we do have to say goodbye to one of our friends, Hanan will be leaving us on Thursday to move to Wisconsin with his family. I know that I speak for the entire class that we will miss him dearly. He has been a JOY to have in our class and I know that we will all keep in touch with him, and be jealous of the snowmen that he gets to build in his new home! 🙂
A few friendly reminders:
Please make sure to check your child’s folder on a daily basis. Important information from the office and myself are sent home through this folder.
Also, please make sure to send a warm jacket for your child. Although we will not be going outside if the weather is extremely cold, they do still need a jacket to wear in the building and at carpool.
As always, please let me know any questions, comments, or concerns.
Miss Lisa 🙂
