I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving break. We always have lots to be thankful for in VPK2, and will continue looking for things to be thankful for during our days at school.
Thank you to all of our families that participated in our Intergenerational day. Our cards turned out beautiful, and we look forward to taking them to the River Garden Nursing Home.
Please continue the great reading work with your child. They are very excited when it is their turn to put up a new sticker on the reading chart.
This Week’s Highlights
Today we played the game, I have, Who has – a letter recognition game.
Today we, “Raised our Flipper” – a rhyming word game.
Today we will track sentences with the teachers pointer and count words in the sentences, as we learn to use complete sentences.
Today we will Swim for Sounds – Syllable Segmentation.
Today we will write / draw our favorite sea character, and we will retell the story using character props.
Book of the Week/Theme:
“If a Dolphin Were a Fish”
The next two weeks we begin a new theme from the book, Shake My Sillies Out.
Please send in the green Dubow Preschool t-shirts.
We will begin our Hanukkah program at 5:30 on Monday December 10th, please drop off your child in our classroom at 5:15. We have completed the costume head dress and will need the children to be dressed in “Solid” color of clothing. Color of your choice.
Chaperones are still needed to drive the children to River Garden.
Our class party will be on Thursday, December 13th from 10:30 to 11:30. We will need one new wrapped “Age Appropriate book to use in our book exchange with the children. Check your child’s pocket folder for details regarding book exchange, and your e-mail for details on our class party.
Our Shabbat celebration will begin at 10:00am. If you or family members want to join us for story time, please arrive at 9:30 in our class. Please send me an e-mail if you or family are reading, and what book you will read. Thanks for your support !
