You Who News

Hello everyone. It has been quite the busy week . We are truly creating a community of kindness within our classroom. Everyone wants their name on the Act of Kindness Tree. They are kind to one another, and practicing being a part of a team. Way to go VPK 2 !

It was great seeing all the children in their PJ’s. Thank you for supporting the Down Syndrome Association.

This Week’s Highlights

Monday

Today we used all of our “senses” to examine a pumpkin as we learned together. We all took a turn at “Paper Making” with Mr. Greg in Science. Please take the opportunity to check out their work on the board in our room.

Tuesday

Today we painted pumpkins and used our precious handprints for the leaves.

Oh what fun we had making “SLIME”.  I hope everyone will enjoy playing with it, check your child’s back pack for the reason their hands are green…  ewwwww.  It was great going to the big science lab in the day school for this exciting class!

Wednesday

Today we continued our work with sight words and adding words to the word wall.  We also celebrated Kagan’s birthday. Her Mom had something special planned for her.

Thursday

Today we will make some yummy pumpkin bread and bake the seeds from the pumpkin we carved to investigate.

Friday

Today we will be starting to write in our journals. This is emergent writing for us, the beginning stages of writing our favorite part, or character from the book, “Pumpkin Soup”.

Book of the Week/Theme:

“Sixteen Pumpkins”

Sneak Peak

Next week we begin a new theme on leaves, from the book, The Big Leaf Pile. We will count them, paint them, and learn all about leaves.
